Open Space sales and use taxes

Preserving our open spaces, native habitats and recreational opportunities

Boulder County residents have pledged their support for open space time and again through approving a number of sales taxes and bond issues.

These funds allow Boulder County to preserve its character and the beauty of its rich vistas, natural habitats, native plants and wildlife, agricultural properties and mountain environments.

Money raised by these sales taxes support acquisition of open space by allowing the County to purchase new open space properties as well as pay off bonds that enabled earlier open space purchases. The funds also pay for programs that help preserve habitat, provide educational and recreational programs and create and maintain trails.

For more information, visit the Boulder County Parks and Open Space department at www.co.boulder.co.us/openspace.
