Boulder County Drug Task Force officers arrest eight suspects, seize 70 lbs. of marijuana in Nederland

Members of the Boulder County Drug Task Force, in cooperation with investigators from the Brevard County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office, have been conducting an investigation regarding the illegal distribution of marijuana from Colorado to the east coast.  This case is documented under Boulder County Sheriff's Office Case number 13-5477.


On October 10, 2013, in Nederland, CO, the investigation culminated in the arrest of 8 suspects and the seizure of 70.6 pounds of processed marijuana, along with $21,761 in cash. The investigation began in September 2013 and over a period of time, detectives were able to infiltrate the illegal drug organization and convince the suspects they were buyers intending to purchase and transport 70 pounds of marijuana to Illinois. The investigation lead to a residence on Jefferson in Nederland. 


During the arrest, two vehicles and their occupants were contacted outside of a Nederland residence. Each of these vehicles had large plastic bags which contained numerous vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. Inside the residence another container with similar bags of marijuana was found, along with a .380 handgun. The suspects had intended to sell this marijuana to the undercover officers for $231,000.


The following suspects were arrested and taken to the Boulder County Jail on the charges of Distribution of Marijuana (over 50 pounds), a Level 1 Drug Felony.
