Monday, June 09, 2014

Partnering agencies include Boulder County, City of Boulder, City of Longmont, and Foothills United Way

Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County, the City of Boulder, the City of Longmont, and Foothills United Way will open the Regional Collaborative Grants Management System on Friday, June 13, to receive requests for human services funding for 2015.

The four funders will provide awards to community organizations providing services that address targeted human service needs in the cities of Boulder and Longmont, Boulder County, and The City and County of Broomfield through a competitive application process.

Boulder County will also accept applications for Worthy Cause capital improvement projects through this application process.

Agencies seeking funding must provide health and human services or critical “safety net” services that predominately impact low-income and/or at-risk/vulnerable populations. Funding requests must fall within one of the following impact areas:
  • Preparing low-income and at-risk children and youth for success,
  • Improving economic well-being, independence, and self-reliance for adults,
  • Meeting basic needs for individuals and families, and
  • Building a safer community.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit agencies and organizations. Only 501c3 organizations are eligible to apply to Boulder County and Foothills United Way. In addition to nonprofit agencies and organizations, the cities of Boulder and Longmont will also consider funding requests from other community organizations and educational or government entities – public or private – that propose to serve City of Boulder or City of Longmont residents. The cities of Boulder and Longmont will not fund start-up agencies and/or programs or capital improvements or projects.

Nonprofit agencies seeking funding for capital improvement projects may apply for Worthy Cause funding. Eligible applicants for Worthy Cause must be nonprofit agencies that provide health and human services or critical “safety net” services to specifically-identified target populations, including but not limited to vulnerable, low-income, high-risk, or other at-risk populations in need of health care, mental health services, food and nutrition, emergency shelter, affordable housing, domestic violence prevention, child care, early childhood education, supportive social services, and/or services targeted to serve at-risk youth, seniors, persons with disabilities, or persons in need of basic assistance such as shelter, housing, food, or other immediate assistance.

Boulder County is also interested in Worthy Cause submissions from applicants who can address permanent housing solutions for chronically homeless individuals.

All proposals must be submitted on or before 5 pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 through the joint grants management system (which opens for applications on June 13).
