Boulder Judge denies Attorney General's request
For a second time, Boulder District Court Judge Andrew Hartman has rejected the Attorney General’s effort to stop Boulder County Clerk Hillary Hall from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. On Monday the AG filed a motion with the district court asking for a "stay" on issuing same-sex marriage licenses. Judge Hartman issued an order denying the motion, stating that the Attorney General was essentially asking the court to reconsider its earlier ruling on the state's request for a preliminary injunction.  The court found that the Attorney General had not provided any basis for reversing course.  In fact, the court noted several recent decisions from other courts that provide further evidence that Colorado's same-sex marriage ban is unconstitutional.
“We are very pleased with the ruling and will continue issuing licenses,” stated Boulder County Clerk Hillary Hall.
