Below you
will find the link to begin the process of filing your online
appeal. Prior to filling out the form, we would
like to provide you with some information that we hope will
assist you in this process.
The real property tax assessment appeal
period is from May 1 to June 2.
2008 Notices of Valuation (NOV) were sent May 1, 2008 to property
owners in Boulder County who have seen a value or classification
change. For those properties not changing in value or classification
during the intervening year, the value listed on your tax bill
received in January is the Assessor's notification of value for
the coming year.
The 2008 NOVs for residential
properties contain a Comparable Sales Map. The NOVs are
designed to explain the assessment of your property in detail.
You can see a
sample Notice of Valuation.
Your property has been compared to similar homes that sold in
the 24 month period from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2006.
The market comparison grid, photos and
market comparison map on the NOV help clarify the assessment
process. The Residential Comparable Sales Map shows your
property (blue), and the comparable
properties from your
NOV (green).
Our online appeal process is provided for your
convenience. Please review the details of your property as it
is described on the NOV. If corrections are needed we encourage
you to contact us.
We suggest you first read the
Letter to property owners about your Notice of Value
You will also need comparable sales to
provide evidence that your property value is incorrect.
