Development and Open Space
Open spaces and smart growth are two of the hallmarks of high quality of life
in Boulder County.
The County Commissioners place a high value in acquiring,
preserving and improving open space for our residents. Part of this mission
includes the preservation of the county's agricultural lands and way of life.

We also stand behind land use policies that encourage smart development, with
as minimal impact as possible on the environment, vistas and surrounding
properties.
Accomplishing these tasks is something we cannot do on our own. The
Commissioners work cooperatively with officials from local cities and towns to
jointly purchase and manage open space and to craft
Intergovernmental Agreements
(IGAs) regarding growth, development and open space.

Parks and Open Space web
