Boulder County TABOR Tax Refund
Boulder County collected more
property tax revenue in 2003 than was permitted under
TABOR, and must return
approximately $2.5 million to local taxpayers.
The county has mailed out all refund checks worth more than $2 each. Most taxpayers should have received their checks by Wednesday, June 15.
If your refund is $2 or less, you may collect it in person by presenting a valid photo ID at the information booth on the first floor of the County Courthouse, 13 th and Pearl Streets, Boulder, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
If you have questions or have misplaced your refund check, please call 303-441-4500.

One small check from you. One giant leap for community kindness.
You still have an opportunity to contribute your refund to local non-profits through the county's Drop in the Bucket effort. Attached to each check is an explanation of the Drop in the Bucket campaign and the eight non-profit categories to which you may redirect your refund.
Simply check off the non-profit category you wish to support and return the entire page – including the check – in the envelope provided.
One hundred percent of each refund will then be given to non-profits in the category selected.
Individually, each refund is relatively small. But collectively, we can make a huge difference in our community by pooling donations to help local non-profits.
The choice is yours. You may cash your refund check, or you may donate it to selected non-profit organizations in the following categories:
