Turnout Estimates for City of Boulder
Special Election
City of Boulder
Election Information
We will be giving daily updates for the City of
Boulder Special Election from now through Election Day, July 10th.
The County Clerk & Recorder will post the initial
election results at 7pm, Tuesday, July 10th, on our web site. This will
be updated regularly, however, all election results are unofficial until
the election has been certified on or before July 24th.
July 23 Update
- The Boulder County Clerk and Recorders Office has
signed off on the City of Boulder special election. The election
will be officially certified at the July 24th City Council
meeting.
- The one outstanding issue regarding a misread MBB (mobile
ballot box) card has been researched. The error was caused by a
faulty USB port on one of the scanning computers.
July 12 Update
- The preliminary canvass and
audit took place today. Both were successful. The hand count
totals matched the machine totals. All returned ballots were
accounted for and tabulated.
- The reason this was the
preliminary canvass is that voters who didn't sign their ballots
have 8 days to come in and sign their ballot. If they do so in
that time frame, their ballot will be counted. We have 108
envelopes with no signature. All voters who failed to complete
this step have been sent a letter. Those that we were able to
find a phone number were called in addition to the letter.
- We are continuing to look into
what caused the mobile ballot box problem on Tuesday evening. A
mobile ballot box is basically a proprietary memory stick. It
is used to transfer the scanned ballot images to the tally
machine. Processing and tallying of votes are separated for
added security. On Tuesday evening when we went to tally
ballots scanned from one of our systems, the tally program was
unable to read the mobile ballot box. We then had to rescan the
ballots.
