Sales Tax Rates
Sales taxes are due when you purchase a vehicle. If purchased from a
dealer, either a portion or all of the sales taxes are collected by the
dealer. Any unpaid sales taxes are collected by the County Clerk. If
purchased from a private party, all sales taxes are collected by the
County Clerk.
Regional Transportation District (RTD) levies a sales/use tax of
1.00%. A sales/use tax of 0.10% for the Scientific and Cultural
Facilities District (CD)and 0.10% for the Football Stadium
District (FD or FTBL) applies to all sales that are also subject to the
RTD tax. Total RTD tax rate is 1.200%
