Vehicles 1981 and Older
Vehicles model year 1981
and older are required to have a enhanced tailpipe emission test performed
each year at an Air Care Colorado center or an independent,
test-only station in the six-county Denver area.
Motorcycles are exempt from emission testing requirements.
For an inspection
station near you, check the Yellow Pages of the telephone directory
under "Automobile Inspection." If you wish to go to an Air Care Colorado
testing station, they are located at 5655 Airport Boulevard in Boulder
and at 4040 Rodgers Road, near Airport and Nelson Roads, in Longmont.
Hours are 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday
through Friday, and 8:00 am to 12 :00 pm
on Saturday. The test costs $15.00. Cash or personal checks are accepted
but not credit cards. For further information, you may call the Air Care

Unlike license plates,
no grace period is given on emission tests.
