Secure and Verifiable Identification is required for all transactions. The identification must be provided by the owner of record or with a power of attorney presented by the agent. The agent must have a secure and verifiable identification to complete the transaction.

Temporary Permits

Temporary Permits are issued by the Clerk & Recorder's Motor Vehicle office to allow time for the paperwork to be processed and allow the new owner to get the necessary inspections done before plating the vehicle.

A notarized bill of sale signed by the seller is required to obtain a temporary permit.

The cost of a temporary permit is $6.22 plus any applicable sales taxes. The seller's plates are not to be used by the buyer.
