iCRIS Records Search

*Helpful searching hints

The iCRIS Record Search allows you to query the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Recording Division database. The records are indexed by name only (grantor and grantee). You may search by either grantor and/or grantee. The starting date and ending date may be changed to shorten or lengthen the time period of your search. When changing dates, you must type the date in the format indicated, for example, 03/03/2006. If you change the default end date, please note:

INFORMATION PROVIDED AFTER THE DEFAULT END DATE HAS NOT BEEN VERIFIED AND MAY NOT BE COMPLETE.

After entering a name scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on Query to begin the search. If there are no records by the name searched, the Search Results screen will state your search returned 0 records. Otherwise, the Search Results screen will display a record or list of records. To obtain more detailed information concerning a record, click on the instrument (reception) number of the document while in the Search Results screen. You will then get a Document Detail screen. To see all information given on this screen, you may need to scroll down and to the right of your screen. Clicking on Back will return you to the list.

The Record Search also allows you to retrieve information by entering the Recording Division information of a document. For example, you can retrieve index information of a document by entering the reception number of a document in the instrument number field and clicking on Query or hitting the enter key. Note: reception numbers of documents recorded from the early 1900's to 12/9/1971 require 90 to be typed in front of the reception number. If a document was recorded before 1960, the beginning query date must be changed to include the date of Recording Division.

You can view a document or obtain a copy at the Recording Division office. Copy fees are $.25 per page. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, (4:00 for copy orders), Monday through Friday, except for major holidays. The office is located on the second floor at 1750 33rd Street #201, between Walnut and Arapahoe Streets in Boulder.

Helpful Searching Hints

To obtain thorough search results when searching by an individual's name, type the last name first, then type an asterisk (*) before typing the first name. Do not space before or after the asterisk. For example: Doe*John Please note: A query will bring up all documents with individuals having the same last name and first name although the individuals may have different middle initials. Typing in middle initials on a search is not recommended, as it may limit search results.

If an individual's last name consists of more than one word, you should search the name two ways, with a space and without a space between the words. When searching hyphenated names, a hyphen may be used. Do not use apostrophes in searching names.

When searching a business name, begin the name with the first main word of the business. For example, if a business name begins with "The", do not enter the word "the"; begin with the first main word of the business.
