BCASD is a national leader in addressing the strengths and needs of the LGBT elder population by supporting opportunities for LGBT elders to meet and socialize, and by educating the service providers, the LGBT community, and the community-at-large.

Our concerns stem from the fact that national and local research shows that LGBT elders are reluctant to access services. They experience a greater degree of fear of aging than their heterosexual peers due to concerns of discrimination on the part of service providers.

Silver Lining - A Resource Guide for the Elder LGBT Community
Silver Lining lists safe and friendly resources for the elder LGBT community. Providers that attend and/or host Project Visibility trainings are given a special designation in Silver Lining.

On the even-numbered months, they met at the City of Longmont Senior Center, at 910 Longs Peak Avenue. This group is co-sponsored by the City of Longmont Senior Services.
