Boulder County Healthy Youth Alliance (HYA) [formerly Boulder County Prevention Connection] was
formed in 1991 as a coalition-building initiative. It promotes the development of
healthy communities countywide by:
- Encouraging Positive Relationship Building between all adults and
youth
- Coaching and facilitation to the Parent Engagement Network (PEN)
- Promoting 40 "Assets," which are Building Blocks for
Healthy Youth Development
- Supporting collaboration between all sectors of the community on
behalf of causing thriving youth
- Integrating strength-based approaches into existing community
systems
- Ensuring diversity and participation by people of all ages
- Using Asset Based Community Development methods to encourage
everyone in the Community to support these efforts
