Domestic Abuse Prevention Project
Safety Plan~If you are or have been involved in an abusive relationship and are concerned that you may be in danger, here’s a safety plan:
-
Establish a safe place to go that’s unknown to the batterer
-
Know and hold on to emergency numbers (police, shelters)
-
Tell someone you trust what is happening
-
Trust your instincts – if you feel you are in danger, get out
-
Hide important documents, extra money, keys etc to take if you need to get out
-
Plan with your children in case of a violent incident
-
If you have an advocate, discuss a safety plan with them
