Weekend Alternative Program~
Allows youth who would normally be sentenced to a state Division of Youth Services Regional Detention Center to be lodged in the Juvenile Center for up to four consecutive weekends. This allows the youth to complete short periods of close supervision without disturbing family and school ties. Some program funding is received from a contract with the State of Colorado.

School/Work Release Alternative Sentencing Program~
Allows youth who would normally be sentenced to a State Division of Youth Services Regional Detention Center to be lodged in the Juvenile Center for up to 21 days. The youth is released each day to attend school and/or work in accordance with a case plan jointly developed with the courts. Youth are carefully monitored during the release period and reports are forwarded to the court upon completion of the program.

Juvenile Center Secure Lodging~
Provides booking, assessment, and bonding services as well as providing secure lodging for up to 20 youth. Juveniles taken into custody by local law enforcement are brought to the Juvenile Center where they are assessed. The end result is the juvenile being bonded out to the custody of a responsible party or being detained to appear in front of a judge. Reasons for detaining youth in the center are to protect the youth, to protect the community, and to ensure appearance in court. The use of the Center solely for punitive, corrective measures is not acceptable. The day consists of activity periods, educational periods, groups, and individual counseling. Youth stay for brief periods of time and are able to return to their regular schools upon release or attend state run schools if further detained. The Center does allow limited use of the Center for Alternative Sentencing Programming such as Weekend Sentencing and School/Work Release.

Wilderness Work Camp (WWC)~
A ten-day Alternative Sentencing option that accommodates eight youth at a time. It can be used in lieu of twenty days in detention or as a ten-day furlough for youth who are serving longer sentences in custody or as an intermediate sanction for youth who violate
B.E.S.T. or Probation. WWC is located at Cal-Wood Education Center outside of Jamestown. The youth engage in daily activities, which include work projects such as trail maintenance and fence building. The campers are taught forest management, conservation and survival skills, as well as self-awareness, group and trust building, and pro-social living skills. The staff holds youth responsible for their actions through natural consequences and conflict/anger
management.
