If you have applied to either the Longmont Community Housing
Program or the Boulder County/City of Longmont Down Payment
Assistance Program, you must attend a one-on-one pre-purchase
counseling session with a housing counselor. First, you must
apply to the City of Longmont for either of these programs and
be considered income eligible by the City of Longmont before you
can schedule a one-on-one pre-purchase session. In the
counseling session, the counselor will review your 1st and 2nd (DPA)
loans to ensure that you understand the terms of the loans. To
this meeting, you must bring 1) the Good Faith Estimate and
Truth-in-Lending forms (from your lender), 2) a budget of your
current financial situation (all expenses and income), and 3) a
budget of your future financial situation (after you purchase).
Program staff reserves the right to deny eligibility for an
applicant based on the terms of the loan. Sub-prime loans will
not be accepted. If the applicant is denied based on their loan,
then the Housing Counselor will work with the applicant to
restore credit issues, etc. so that the applicant may qualify
for a better loan in the future.
