Consumer Affairs FAQ
2. The
“right to rescind” does not cover car sales. Once you sign a buyer’s
order and the appropriate forms required by the state, you have bought
the car, along with any problems that it has.
If you are
feeling pressured by a car salesperson, shop elsewhere or give yourself
some time to carefully consider the purchase.
You should
never feel forced into buying a car, so make an informed decision by
researching the reliability of any car you are purchasing, have any used
car checked out by an independent mechanic BEFORE you buy it, check
consumer magazines and websites for information on the car being
considered, and do not make a decision without reading everything you
are being asked to sign.
