is." This means that the buyer inherits any problems with the cars
and is responsible for any repairs that the car needs.
Some dealers will perform a safety check on a used vehicle and
guarantee the car for a short period of time. If you are offered this sort
of guarantee, make sure you get this guarantee in writing and read what is
written so you understand your responsibilities.
Before buying a used car, consumers should have the vehicle checked by
an independent mechanic. Most garages will perform this check for a fee.
During this check, the garage mechanic will note what repairs may be
necessary in the future and how much they could cost. You can review this
report and decide whether or not to purchase the vehicle.
