Role of Assigned Deputy

Once a case is assigned to one of the seven trial deputies it becomes their sole responsibility. The deputy becomes responsible for the preparation and prosecution of the case from the preliminary stages through the ultimate disposition or trial of the matter through the sentencing of the defendant. The deputy recommends to the judge the sentence they believe is appropriate and requests terms and conditions of sentencing that they believe are appropriate, based on the facts of the case.
