

As the elected District Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial District, Stanley L. Garnett oversees an office of prosecutors and staff dedicated to serving the people of Boulder County, Colorado.
Divisions & Units of the District Attorney's Office
- The District Court Division has original jurisdiction over all felony cases in the 20th Judicial District.
- The County Court Division has original jurisdiction over all Colorado state misdemeanor and traffic cases.
- The Juvenile Prosecution Division Unit seeks timely and effective interventions and consequences to delinquent children, maintaining the child within his or her family, school and community if possible.
- The Victim and Witness Unit ensure that victims of crime are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity, by providing comprehensive assistance and services to them throughout the criminal justice process. They also administer the Victim Compensation Program.
- The Community Protection Division investigates and pursues complaints on behalf of consumers, and also takes a lead role in prosecuting cases involving abuse or exploitation of vulnerable members of the community.
- County residents also have an opportunity to volunteer with the DA’s office.
- The Discovery Unit prepares information on cases for the Defense.
- The Restitution Unit determines and documents financial losses in all cases.
