Healthy Community Awards

Since 2006, Public Health has recognized over 30 individuals, groups, agencies, and organizations that have worked to address the public health needs and issues in Boulder County. The recipients of this award have all demonstrated in an exemplary way the BCPH mission and values, and the development and implementation of strategies to improve the health and well-being of the people and environment in Boulder County.

2016 Healthy Community Awards Recipients

Allison BayleyAllison Bayley is one of the strongest advocates for implementing the principles of positive youth development in systems and organizations in Boulder County. She acts on these principles daily as coordinator of the Youth Opportunities Program for the City of Boulder, including as the adult facilitator for the city’s Youth Opportunities Advisory Board (YOAB).

City of Boulder Climate + Sustainability TeamCity of Boulder Climate + Sustainability Team researched, developed, and, staffed up to implement two groundbreaking climate and sustainability ordinances:

  • Boulder Building Performance (BPO) - in support of community energy and climate goals
  • Universal Zero Waste ((ZWO) - to expand recycling and composting to all Boulder residents


Boulder County Movement for ChildrenBoulder County Movement for Children expertly promotes awareness of children’s needs and supports public policies and legislation that benefit children. They regularly interact with the Boulder County legislative delegation, publish The Status of Children in Boulder County “children’s report card”, and host public education forums to address hot topics in children’s needs and related policy.
