Road Maintenance

Boulder County maintains approximately 700 miles of roadway, of which nearly 50 percent are gravel and 50 percent area asphalt surfaced. The county stretches from the plains, at an elevation of 5,280 feet to the Continental Divide, at an elevation near 14,000 feet. Consequently the maintenance division is well experienced in winter roadway maintenance practices.

Transportation Planning and Engineering oversees the Adopt-A-County Road Program, and works with development review for access.
