2013 Clean Air Challenge Results

In 2013, 403 people registered for the challenge and 281 people actively participated by finding alternative travel and logging their trips throughout the entire two month challenge.

Contest participants reduced 120,000 vehicle miles during the 2013 Clean Air Challenge. We met our goal to double last year's vehicle miles travelled saving.

2013 Clean Air Challenge Savings

  • Nearly 4,000 gallons of gasoline
  • 514 lbs. less ozone
  • 56 tons less of carbon dioxide

Grand Prize

Jim Arnow of the National Ecological Observatory Network. Jim won a new iPad by saving 862 vehicle miles during the contest period by riding his bike to and from work almost every day.
