Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Prevention

Pertussis (also called whooping cough) is a serious illness. It can cause problems such as pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and even death for young children and babies. Babies most often get the disease from their parents, grandparents, siblings, and caregivers.

Protect Your Little Ones

It’s important for adults who have close contact with infants and small children to get the tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine.

Often, Pertussis symptoms go unnoticed or are very mild, so family members may not always know they are contagious.
