Foster & Kinship Core Training

Foster and Kinship Foster Parent Core Training is a required step in the process to become a certified foster or kinship foster parent. The curriculum covers positive parenting, rules and regulations, the effects of trauma on development, and many other topics. Training is led by staff and includes presentations by individuals experienced in the program.

Core Training spans three full days: a Friday and two Saturdays. It is scheduled monthly, and confirmed two weeks prior to the first day of a session. There is no fee.

Prospective Foster Parents

Prospective foster parents should register for Core Training using the form below after all adults pursuing certification have attended Orientation. Contact us with any questions.

Kinship Foster Parents

Kinship Foster Parents will be guided through this process by their assigned Home Study Worker. Kinship Foster Parents may register for Core Training themselves using the form below, ask their Home Study Worker for assistance, or contact us with any questions.
