Holiday Giving Programs

Boulder County Housing & Human Services offers several options for holiday giving during the 2013 holiday season.

The Family-To-Family Holiday Program

The Family-To-Family Holiday Program in its 39th year, serves low-income families and individuals who are clients of our Child Protection, Adolescent, Adult Protection (elderly and disabled adults) programs, and our basic needs families. We hope you will join our effort to brighten the lives of county residents who will otherwise do without this holiday season. Last year we served over 450 families (totaling more than 1,400 individuals). The BCHC is the non-profit 501 ( c ) 3 organization that serves as the umbrella agency for the Casa de la Esperanza, Family Self-Sufficiency, Family & Children Services and the Family-to-Family Holiday Gift programs.

As we look to turning 40 next year, Family-To-Family is evolving with exciting changes that align with Department of Housing & Human Service's philosophy on the best-possible practices in Human Services. Our new tag line, “Hope for the future, Help when you need it” symbolizes our efforts to place individual empowerment, family self-sufficiency and safety at the forefront of all our work. We are using every opportunity to form partnerships with families by giving them the primary voice in decisions affecting their lives. With that in mind, we are asking donors to support clients who would prefer to receive gift cards and do the holiday shopping themselves. Many of our parents will relish the opportunity to purchase presents for their own children, and teens and disabled or elderly adults clients have long preferred the chance to shop for themselves.

We are using this year as a transition year to re-format our holiday program to match the agency’s goal of giving all clients more voice and choice. We are still offering the classic gift purchasing program, but our goal for next year is to have all participants receive gift cards.

Donors can use the sum of $75 per person to gauge the maximum number of people to support, and we match you appropriately.

The Family-To-Family Program is hugely appreciated by the people we serve.. It takes the pressure off neighbors who are struggling during the holiday season and captures the true meaning of hope for the future and help when it is needed!
