Home Based Contraception Program

En Español »

The Home-Based Contraception Program (HBC) was launched in November 2001 in partnership with Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center to address the issue of pregnancy recidivism among teen parents in the GENESIS program to ensure that clients remain consistent with a contraceptive method.

Services Include

  • Depo Provera shot provided to teen parents in their homes, minimizing the barriers to continued compliance with a birth control method
  • Follow-up and support about contraceptive use from a registered nurse (employed by Women’s Health). She also provides information on sexually transmitted infections and reinforces GENESIS messages regarding the importance of spacing births by at least two years.
