Flood-impacted residents of unincorporated Boulder County who have questions about the rebuilding process are encouraged to contact the Flood Rebuilding & Permit Information Center to speak with a staff member.

If you are the owner of a destroyed or severely damaged structure in unincorporated Boulder County and wish to rebuild, please contact the Flood Rebuilding and Permitting Information Center at 303-441-1705 or floodrecovery@bouldercounty.org to begin the Hazard Mitigation Review process.

Other Rebuilding Considerations

Building

First, check to see if a permit is required for any repairs you are considering. The Boulder County Land Use Department issues building permits for unincorporated areas of Boulder County.

Septic Systems

If a septic system has suffered significant damage, check the flood septic system page or review the SepticSmart section.

Wells

If a water well needs significant structural reconstruction or rebuilding, please check the well water safety section.

Private Roads, Culverts, & Bridges

Mold

Learn how to make sure your home and any other properties you manage are safe from mold. After a flood, mold can present a variety of serious health risks. Landlords and property managers are required to document mold remediation efforts.

EnergySmart

EnergySmart can help residents who need to make important decisions about recent flood damage to their homes. EnergySmart Advisors are available to provide guidance for replacing insulation in the basement, crawlspace and attic, as well as repairing or replacing furnaces, hot water heaters, duct systems, washers, other appliances and more.

Property Valuation and Taxes

A proration in property value for destroyed structures (resulting in a reduction of 2013 taxes) will be calculated for the dates of Sept. 12 through Dec. 31. For more information, contact the Assessor's Office at 303-441-3530.
