Slash Drop-Off Sites (Seasonal)

Wood and slash drop-off site closed for the season on September 30

(Boulder County, Colo.) – Boulder County’s popular drop-off site for wood, slash and other woody biomass material collected on private lands in Boulder County closed for the season on September 30. The closure is necessary to allow for the Allenspark/Meeker Park site to be cleaned up and shut down for the season ahead of snowfall.

 

Allenspark/Meeker Park - Closed for the Season

This site is located north of Meeker Park on Highway 7, about one-eighth of a mile past the Larimer County line on the east side of the road.

Note: This site is currently closed for the season.

Seasonal hours of operation:

  • Tuesday-Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday, Monday

Note: No other organic materials will be accepted. Do not drop-off any construction materials, root balls, furniture or household trash, and or wood with metal wire on it at any time at any transfer station or drop-off site.

Nederland - Closed for the Season

Slash*, which includes tree limbs, branches and small-diameter trees (up to 6” in diameter) can be dropped at the Boulder County Waste Transfer Station at 286 Ridge Road, Nederland.

Seasonal Hours of operation:

Every day - except Wednesdays - from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Memorial Day through Labor Day.

In order to ensure that space is available for each load delivered, users need to call the transfer station at 303-258-7878 to make an appointment. There is no limit on quantities if space is available. Service can be used by residents and contractors. Wood chips for use as garden mulch are available free of charge while supplies last, but must be loaded by hand.

Plains

As a reminder, county residents can also use the County’s and the City of Boulder’s year-round organic waste* drop-off center at Western Disposal Services’ Transfer Station, 5880 Butte Mill Road, Boulder.

Hours of Operation:

Mon- Fri: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round
Saturdays: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (March to November) and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (November to March)

The cost to use the center for residents of unincorporated Boulder County is $29.00 per ton in 2008, 60% of the regular cost. Quantities less than a ton are charged a pro-rated amount. Boulder County pays 40% of the cost of this service.
