Secondary GIS Land Position Network
Crews from Boulder County and participating BASIC members recovered,
marked and described 491 survey positions in eastern Boulder County:
- 406 Public Land Survey System positions (section corners, quarter
corners, and centers)
- 9 property or subdivision monuments
- 20 witness corners
- 56 survey monuments
Merrick and Company observed these points
in the fall and winter of 1999
and 2000 using GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) techniques. The horizontal
positional accuracy of the coordinates is estimated at +/- 8 centimeters.
Vertical accuracy was not included. These coordinates are GIS Land
Positions, not survey coordinates.
Secondary GIS Landpoints
The target points were the universe of aliquot corners on or near paved
roads and existing survey control points.
Descriptions of each secondary GIS landpoint of interest is located on the
secondary
locator map. These data can be downloaded, free of charge, from this
website.
Coordinate Information
Coordinate information for the 491 primary network control points is
available in shapefile format in Boulder County's standard projection and
coordinate system. It has a scale of 1:24,000 and is in Colorado
State Plane (zip file format), North Zone projection, based on the 1992
adjustment of the 1982 North American Datum (HPGN NAD 83/92).
The shapefile attribute dataset includes a number of additional
attributes for the points.
