PFLAG's "Straight for Equality: Active Allies Show Us How"
Thursday, November 19th, 7:00p.m.
First United Methodist Church, 14th & Spruce Sts., Boulder

Special guest panelists are:

  • Anne Guilfoile, Co-Chair of the Boulder Valley Safe Schools Coalition; co-founder, OASOS program

  • Katy Fleming, Former BVSD Health Education Coordinator who got the comprehensive health curriculum passed

  • Alexis M. Smith, UCSU Diversity Director, University of Colorado at Boulder

  • Debbie Ramirez, Volunteer Manager, Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence

  • Jennifer and Ron Gould, activists in the Interfaith AIDS Coalition and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Lafayette

These allies share their stories of how they became involved and what they didto support equality for LGBTIQ persons. This is a program aimed at reaching out to straight allies in the community. Bring a straight friend to the meeting. Come to be inspired and to gain insight and motivation for what you can do to make a difference for LGBTIQ equality.

Annual PFLAG Holiday Feast
Thursday, December 17th, 6:30 p.m. First UMC, Mead Hall
PFLAG's annual holiday feast is a joyful evening of food and fellowship. The PFLAG Board will provide a baked turkey, ham, potatoes, place settings, and beverages. Please bring salads, side dishes, or dessert to share. The Somethin’ About Lulu trio will entertain us after dinner. And it's all free! Come early to get a parking space.


Youth-led LGBTIQ Book Club
The Lafayette Library is starting a student-led LGBTIQ book group on November 15th & December 13th from 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.


St. Vrain Safe Schools Coalition
Get involved and help make St. Vrain Valley School District schools safe for LGBTIQ students, staff, and parents. Join the St. Vrain Safe Schools Coalition. Meetings are held at 3:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1030 Boston Avenue in Longmont. For more information, please contact Melissa.


Colorado Queer Youth Summit
Meet over 200 other LGBTIQ youth from across the state at the second annual Colorado Queer Youth Summit. Participate in a wide range of workshops, art activities, and an evening concert and dance. The event will be held on February 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
