Earth Day is Every Day
Earth Day is an opportunity for us to
celebrate and appreciate the wonder of our natural surroundings.
Boulder County ranges from the
peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the wide open spaces
of the Great Plains. We enjoy a unique variety of landscapes
that provide essential habitats for wildlife as well as solace
for Front Range residents.
Melting snowcaps provide clean water for our
farms and communities. Wide-open spaces provide habitat for
wildlife. As our population grows, the activities of our daily
lives put an increasing burden on these spaces, and discharges
of toxic chemicals into the environment all provide challenges
to our natural surroundings.
We should not take our natural resources for
granted. Boulder County has a long history of preserving open
space and protecting the environment. Boulder County residents
and governments work very hard to protect these resources, but
we need your help.
You can help continue our legacy by adopting
some simple practices, such as those in our Earth Day
photo gallery. Each of us has a responsibility to do our
part.
Protect our natural splendor. Make Earth Day
every day!
