Join the Summer Clean Air Challenge. It's Simple.

With gas prices over $4 per gallon, and our ozone pollution levels already beyond Federal Ozone standards, this is an important summer for all of us. Ozone is an important health issue. Increased ground-level ozone concentrations, even at levels below the federal standard, can compromise health, especially among sensitive populations like active children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions like asthma. But there is something you can do.

From June 25th (Bike to Work Day) through August 31st, use alternative transportation (i.e. bus, light rail, ride your bike, walk, telecommute, carpool) whenever you can.

On days that you have to drive alone, drive smart and drive clean by maintaining your vehicle and combining trips.

Just click on Clean Air Contest and fill in the pledge form to sign up for this year's challenge. Your actions will make a difference, and you may just win a prize too!

Grand prize: An electric bike
Runner up prizes (for reducing the most mileage): $50 Gift Cards to REI
Plus, many more prizes just for participating!

New this year: Take the pledge to Drive Clean and Drive Smart and you will be entered into a drawing for additional prizes of $50 gift cards.
