2009 Summer Clean Air Challenge Contest Winners

Thank you to those who participated in this year's Clean Air Challenge. There were a total of 304 participants who registered and 94 participants logged points for all four periods in the contest. This large effort can significantly reduce the formation of ground level ozone and improve air quality in our community.

Participants of the challenge commuted 97,665 miles through alternative transportation over the summer. This saved the participants a collective 5,644 gallons of gas over the summer and reduced emissions of carbon dioxide and ground-level or (bad) ozone.

The Grand Prize Winner of this year's Challenge (picked randomly) goes to:

Tina Neilson of Boulder County Parks and Open Space

The Runner Up Winners picked based on actual points and mileage logged are:

Collin Tomb from Boulder County traveled the most DAYS using alternative transportation with 56 days.
Patricia Holcomb from CU traveled the most MILES using alternative transportation, traveling 3,440 miles.
