Walk, Bike, Take the Bus: Walk and Bike Week is a
fun celebration promoting all of the ways we can get around town without
our cars: walk, bike, or take the bus. It’s fun, healthy, and good for the
environment. Boulder’s Walk and Bike Week is a partnership of the city,
local businesses, and outdoor enthusiasts who help to coordinate and
sponsor this week-long event that promotes walking and biking as
convenient transportation options.
Leave you Car at Home and Win: Walk/Bike-to-Work
Day is also the official kickoff of the
Boulder County Clean Air Challenge. Leave your car at home through the summer
high pollution months and win!
Join the Fun: Walk and Bike Week is an annual
event, presented each June by GO Boulder/City of Boulder. It’s part of
Colorado Bike Month and the Denver Metro Area Bike-to-Work Day. Last
summer more than 18,000 people throughout the metro area rode their bikes
and saved over 268,000 miles of vehicle travel. This year, Bike-to-Work
Day is Wednesday, June 28. In addition to Bike-to-Work Day, the City of
Boulder is hosting events all week, from Saturday, June 24, through Friday,
June 30, 2007.
