Alternatives to Open Burning
Open burning releases smoke, fine particulates (tiny
particles that can be inhaled into the lungs), carbon monoxide, and other
types of air pollutants which contribute to local air quality and health
problems. There are alternatives to the open burning of slash (forest
debris); Boulder County has dropoff locations where slash can be disposed of
safely and efficiently.

Community Forestry Sort Yards
Service: Tree and slash drop off
Location: Meeker Park Community Forestry Sort Yard (located north of
Meeker Park on Highway 7, about 1/8th of a mile north of the Boulder/Larimer
County line on the east side of the road).
Cost and availability: This service is free to Boulder and Larimer
County residents. Please visit their
