Step 5: Schedule the final inspection

To make sure your system has been repaired properly, Public Health staff will need to complete a final inspection of your system before it is covered with soil. Your permit may also specify that your design engineer must also inspect your system.

You can make an appointment for the final inspection by calling our office at 303-441-1564. Our staff is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If all of the conditions of the permit have been met we will approve your system and mail a Certificate of Final Approval to the property owner.

Your Certificate of Final Approval is your assurance that your system, with proper maintenance, is built to protect our environment from contamination. Thank you!

Questions & Answers

When might an engineer need to be present at the time of the final inspection?

If your system required an engineered design, it will likely require that the engineer also inspect the system to ensure installation was completed according to design requirements.

Public Health staff will let you know if the  engineer is required to be present at the time of the final inspection.
