Boulder County Public Health regulations govern all septic systems in Boulder County. These regulations incorporate the guidelines established by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE); however, they are more stringent than state regulations in some areas. In an effort to prevent disease outbreaks and contamination of our water, BCPH launched a countywide program called SepticSmart. It is aimed at improving the health of our county's septic systems and water.

We provide these resources for county residents, OWS professionals, and other public health agencies with similar watershed initiatives.
