About the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)
The goal of the Nurse-Family Partnership Program is to assist
first-time parents in succeeding, while learning new skills.
Families develop confidence and proficiency with parenting and economic
self-sufficiency by volunteering to work with a nurse home visitor from this
proven program. Specialized nurses visit families regularly throughout a
2-1/2 year period, beginning in pregnancy.
The Nurse-Family Partnership achieves its goal by focusing upon three
clear objectives:
1. Fostering healthier pregnancies.
2. Improving the health and development of children.
3. Encouraging family self-sufficiency.
Mothers-to-be and mothers up to one month
postpartum who meet the income guidelines are potentially eligible
for the program.
The Nurse-Family Partnership Program has the
capacity to serve 100 Boulder County families.
The Nurse-Family Partnership is affiliated with
the national Nurse-Family Partnership and represents a
highly refined approach to the long-established service strategy of home
visiting.
