The most common symptoms of RSV infection in young children are nasal
congestion, cough, sore throat, and fever (usually present for 2-4
days).
After several days, the cough may deepen, and shortness of breath with
more rapid breathing may develop.
RSV may cause bronchiolitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, croup, and inner ear
infection (otitis media).
The incubation period for RSV ranges from 2-8 days.
