The primary symptom of infection is frequent, sometimes explosive, watery diarrhea.

Diarrhea is usually accompanied by nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach cramps, fatigue, and weight loss.

Other symptoms may include gas, bloating and muscle aches; fever is rare. 

Symptoms can persist for weeks.  Relapse is common if not treated.
