Symptoms usually develop 3-6 days after exposure. The most common symptoms are fever, sore throat, and the
appearance of small blister-like sores in and around the mouth, on the
palms and fingers, and on the soles of the feet.
The sores fade without treatment in 7 to 10 days. There
are several different types of Coxsackie virus that cause this disease,
so persons can be infected more than once if exposed to a different
virus type.
