Impetigo is a skin infection that can produce "blister-like" lesions and is caused by two types of bacteria:
Group A Streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus.
It most often infects preschool or school-aged children and is more common during
hot and humid weather.
Skin that is already irritated from other conditions like eczema,
poison ivy, or allergies is more likely to become infected.
