Treating Staph
Fact Sheet
PDF 26 KB
Staph bacteria, including MRSA, are treatable with specific antibiotics.
Most staph skin infections can be treated without
antibiotics by draining the sore.
Because antibiotic resistance is a concern, susceptibility testing
should be performed to ensure the most appropriate treatment choice.
Also, if antibiotics are prescribed, patients should be encouraged to
complete the full course to help prevent the threat of resistance.
