H1N1 Info

Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) clinics provide flu shots, which contain Thimerosal, during the flu season for children 6 months through 18 years of age. They cost $14.

During the flu season, adults can receive the vaccine at many locations throughout the county. Visit the Colorado Flu website at www.immunizecolorado.com or call 1-877-462-2911 for locations, dates and times, costs, ages immunized, types of vaccines provided, types of insurance accepted, and if an appointment is required.

Schools Play Crucial Role in Slowing Spread of Seasonal and H1N1 Flu
Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 - DENVER
- As the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment prepares for flu immunization activities, the department is urging schools, child-care and college officials to talk to their students and parents about what they are doing to slow the spread of seasonal and H1N1 influenza this year. Health officials also provided a link to a Back-to-School Resource Kit for schools from U.S. Health and Human Services to assist schools with planning for flu season at http://www.flu.gov/plan/school/toolkit.html. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 - DENVER - An El Paso County infant was the first person in the state to be hospitalized with influenza in the new flu season, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment confirmed today. The infant was released and now is recovering at home.  Continued

Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 - DENVER -
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and The Children's Hospital has issued a television public service announcement warning residents about the dangers of influenza. The announcement, which aired Nov. 10 and will run through Dec. 31, features a mother whose 6-month-old died after being infected with the influenza virus in 2003.  Continued
