Preventing West Nile Virus

The only treatment available for WNV is prevention.

Prevention includes the use of insect repellent, taking steps to reduce standing water from personal property, treating water on public and open-space land, as well as education about the risks associated with the virus.

In addition to other mosquito control efforts it is important that the 97% of Boulder County residents who are at risk for contracting West Nile Virus take action to prevent falling ill from the virus.
