Public Health Director
The Boulder County Public Health Director is a strong and
visionary public health executive that is responsible for the
leadership, management, and administration of Boulder County Public
Health (BCPH). BCPH is a high-performance organization with a $15
million budget and a staff of 220. It serves a population of 300,000
individuals living in 12 municipalities, towns, and unincorporated
areas within the 740 square miles of Boulder County. This position
actively engages in all segments of the community to focus on the
protection and promotion of the health and well-being of all people
and the environment of Boulder County. The position reports to and
serves at the pleasure of a five-person Board of Health that is
appointed by the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners.

Requirements for Job Finalists (i.e. those selected for
interview):
- Background Checks: All job finalists must agree to and
must clear all appropriate background checks.
- References: Both primary and secondary reference checks
will be conducted on all finalists.
- Release of Finalists’ Names: Per the Colorado Open Records
law, the names of all finalists must be released, if requested.

Reimbursement of Recruitment and Travel Expenses:
This national search for the Boulder County Public Health Director
is expected to include local and out-of-state applicants. To
accommodate out-of-state applicants, BCPH is very open to conducting
initial interviews via telephone. Generally, Boulder County Public
Health does not reimburse finalists for their recruitment and travel
expenses and applicants must assume travel costs if called for
interviews.
