Medicaid Benefits

Adult Medicaid Benefits
(Benefits for persons age 21 and over)

Children's Medicaid Benefits
(Benefits for persons age 20 and under)

Medicaid covers services that are medically necessary, as determined by a Medicaid primary care physician (PCP).

Children on Medicaid from birth through age 20 are also part of Early & Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, & Treatment (EPSDT), which helps parents make the most of their health care benefits by helping families identify medical issues as soon as possible. EPSDT is free access to good health care for children who have a current Medicaid card.

Your medical identification card (MID card) must be presented for all medical supplies, equipment, or services (e.g., wheelchair, orthopedic shoes, transportation).

24-hour-nurse-hotline
FirstHelp™ 24 hour nurse hotline is a free benefit to Medicaid recipients in the Primary Care Physician Program and Fee-For-Service plans. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When recipients are sick or hurt, they can call to talk to a nurse about what to do. This can help prevent an unnecessary trip to the emergency room or doctor’s office. Call 911 when someone might die or be disabled if they don’t get care right now. FirstHelp has helped over 62% of clients planning to go to the ER make a better choice.
