West
Nile Cases To be Reported Weekly
Beginning
the week of Monday, October 6, the Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment will report West Nile virus human cases and deaths on a weekly
basis, rather than reporting them every weekday afternoon.
The
cases will be reported at about 4 p.m. every Thursday afternoon until
investigations are completed on all pending cases. The new weekly numbers will be posted on the department’s Web
site at cdphe.state.co.usA weekly
update news release also will be issued.You will be notified when cases will no longer be reported.
Daily
news releases and Web site postings will continue on Thursday, October 2, and
on Friday, October 3.
The
information will continue to be available electronically by first clicking on
West Nile virus at the right top corner of the first page of the department’s
Web site.Then scroll to Statistics and
Surveillance.Click on the first line,
“Daily summary of human WNV cases for 2003.”
